Dieter Dengler Werner Herzog Eugene Deatrick
A documentary on the Vietnam War without a trace of political critique. The extreme contradictions in Dieter‘s story - the barbarity and heroism, the anguish and joy, the innocent dream of flying and the most horrifying tortures caused by it - create an intriguing charisma and a probing commentary on 20th-century history.
